The King and Queen is a 15th century coaching inn complete with beams, open fires, flagstone floors and a haunted rear bar! The tradition was that Wheatley cottagers would hang their door keys behind the bar in the rear bar. If they were unable to pay their drinking bill at closing time, the landlord would take the keys and his customers wife in lieu of payment! The ghost in the rear bar is that of a former landlord murdered by a jealous husband. All the usual pub games and a very friendly atmosphere at the King and Queen.

We are a traditional pub with traditional pub games. We have a large beer garden in which there is a collection of birds of prey.
